2017 Open, Road the the CrossFit Games

By February 11, 2017NEWS, WOD

Are you doing the Open this year?? Why not??! The Open is the one time of the year that the entire global CrossFit community competes in a single event. If you’ve done the Open in the past then you remember how much fun this event can be and how close it brings our community together. Both very important things. If you’re new to the Open and have no idea what I’m talking about then this event is especially for you! The Open is a 5 week global competition to seek the fittest athletes on earth to eventually compete at the CrossFit Games in August. If you’re like me, I don’t plan on competing at the CrossFit Games, but I do like to see where my fitness level compares to other athletes my same age. The Open has a special way of making you try a little harder than you normally would, it stretches your expectation, and you grow as an athlete. This also brings our community together, a benefit of CrossFit.

The plan is to return to our old format of the Open, as a gym body to come together on Saturday mornings to compete. please sign up for the Open; more information on the Open and how to register can be found here https://games.crossfit.com, our team name is Kirkland CrossFit. On our team page we can all compete with one another, or compare our results to other athletes throughout the world in our same age division.

Here’s a stroll down memory lane on some of our previous Open WOD’s. CAUTION you may see some old familiar faces in here…..
