EMPOWERING OUR COMMUNITY SINCE 2008

KCFN Kids CrossFit’s First Class

Today was the first ever class for our Recruits and our Probies at Kirkland CrossFit North.  I had a blast with all of them running, jumping, squatting and just being crazy.  At the end of the Recruits class we played  a little game of musical medicine balls and Ellie Pratt battled hard to take the last spot.  I hope they all had as much fun as I did and I look forward to Thursdays class for more Kids shenanigans. IMG_2097

,air max 90," the poem by Gunter Grass accused Israel of planning a preemptive strike against Iran in order to "extinguish the Iranian people." It said Israel’s "atomic power endangers" world peace. The poem also criticized the German government for supplying Israel with a submarine capable of sending destructive warheads "where the existence of a single nuclear bomb is unproven." The 84-year-old Grass, air max 2012, who won a Nobel Prize in literature in 1999, is now unwelcome in Israel, the government announced. The poem earned him a blaze of harsh critics that included Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In a statement published Thursday, Netanyahu referred to Grass’ comparison between Israel and Iran as "shameful" and argued that it said "little about Israel and much about Mr. Grass."   1-on-1 with Israel’s Defense Minister "It is Iran, not Israel, that is a threat to the peace and security of the world" said Netanyahu, "It is Iran, not Israel,Nike Hyperfuse, that threatens other states with annihilation." Referring to Grass’ past as a member of the Nazi Waffen-SS during World War II, Netanyahu said "it is not surprising" for the poet "to cast the one and only Jewish state as the greatest threat to world peace and to oppose giving Israel the means to defend itself." In an effort to quash the criticism and accusations of anti-Semitism, Grass later explained himself in an interview, saying he merely meant to point to what he considers wrongful policies of the current Israeli government led by Netanyahu. "I criticize a policy that continues to build settlements against any U.N. resolution," Grass said. "Grass’ poems are an attempt to ignite the flame of hatred against the people and the state of Israel and thereby promote the idea he was publicly a part of when he wore the SS Nazi uniforms, nike air max," Israeli Interior Minister Eli Yishai said on Sunday.

Hey Gang, writing you from “The Devil’s Lair” (Las Vegas). Dropped into Crossfit Las Vegas for a couple wo’s. I learned that I couldn’t qualify for the secret service and I can’t party with the girls very well. The second one destroyed me this morning but I’ll blame it on bad night of sleep (air mattress sprung leak) and poor nutrition (Good Pizza though).Great facility at the southern end of strip across street from the airport. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Their main trainer Zach (ex navy seal/ competed at the recent games) was very cool.I brought my 17 year old nephew down to try a basic elements class for his first sip and Zach allowed me to do today’s wod on my own (no other class going) while he taught. Wish you guys were there to share the misery. In closing, I would highly recommend the next time any of you venture out here to drop in for a wod! It will be good for your health and better for your wallet!

Since I can’t hardly move due to Wall-balls 2 days in a row (btw, thanks for that Kelly), I decided to take out my pain in poetry. Oh, and I am NO poet, so feel free to bash away. “An Ode to a Wall-ball”by Daniel BrandfastI have this feeling, down in my legs,My body hurts,It pleads and begs.It says it hurts,I hear it’s moans,From the top of my head,To the depth of my bones. What is this sensation,That is sooooo not Joy.It is Kelly & David hollering,COME ON NOW BOY!They never stop,As they yell with there jaws. These Crossfit Harpies,Who demand more Wall-balls!I throw it up,It comes back down! This evil BALL!I say with a frown. But as I tire,Get winded and weak,I reach the finish. The END……The Peak……I need some oxygen,I need some air,I need 1 more wall-ballIt’s gonna kill me I swear!I throw it up,and catch it with my face!I have finished this WOD!For goodness sake.I now roll over,On the floor, spread out. When from the pit of HADES,I hear with a Shout……COME ON NOW DANIEL,YOU HAVE ONE MORE!I forgot the clock,Was on TABATA for score…….There are many Wall-balls,but this one is mine!So I heave it into the air….Just one…….more time……..The End……..
